Happy New Year! We hope you had a relaxing and restorative holiday break.
We are writing to inform you that the GADE Board of Directors has made the difficult decision to cancel our GADE Reception at the 2022 SSWR Conference. Due to the unprecedented rise in recent coronavirus infections, we feel it is prudent to honor our awardees at an online live awards ceremony to be held in the very near future (date TBA). In addition to this virtual event, we will plan to recognize this year’s awardees again at the 2023 SSWR Annual Conference. The Board did not come to this decision lightly. After careful deliberation, we concluded that the risks outweighed the benefits and made the difficult decision to shift course.
While we will not have our GADE reception, we will still have a space available for conference attendees to connect informally. The Chinatown Conference Room on Meeting Level 3 at the Marriott Marquis DC has been reserved on Saturday, January 15 from 7:30pm-9:00pm for GADE members, colleagues, and friends to socialize and reconnect after the SSWR President’s Reception.
