Dear GADE Members and Friends,

We are pleased to announce that the 2024–2025 GADE Annual Report is now available. This year’s report captures both the challenges and achievements of our community and highlights the incredible commitment of our members to doctoral education in social work.

Inside the report, you’ll find:

  • Reflections from GADE President Dr. Mimi V. Chapman on the state of doctoral education and the evolving landscape of higher education.

  • Updates on Board leadership, including recognizing Dr. Denise Burnette on her service, welcoming Dr. Viola Vaughan-Eden, and the election of Dr. Tova Walsh as president-elect.

  • Membership growth, with 86 PhD programs and 39 DSW programs now represented in GADE.

  • Highlights from our historic Annual Conference at Howard University, celebrating 90 years of social work education at Howard.

  • New and expanded membership resources, including our redesigned member platform, regular “coffee chats,” and ongoing webinars.

  • Program updates, including new plans to enhance dissertation/capstone support.

  • Early findings from our membership survey, which will guide future initiatives.

The Annual Report also recognizes the contributions of our faculty and student awardees, and it reflects the continued spirit of collaboration, mentorship, and mutual learning that makes GADE such a special community.
