The Doctor of Social Work degree (DSW) was once known as the precursor to the Social Work/Social Welfare Ph.D. in the 20th century. In the early 2000s, it re-emerged as a completely re-envisioned doctoral credential that is well suited for our modern age of evidence-based practice. The DSW course curriculum is intended to train scholarly clinicians for practice-oriented leadership so graduates of the program can assume positions of leadership in a myriad of roles and settings such as advanced clinical practice, academia and administration. Our DSW program is offered at Florida Atlantic University's Boca Raton campus as a three-year cohort model with convenient late afternoon and evening courses, ideal for working professionals. All DSW students stay in lockstep with their admitted cohort for the duration of the three-year program, enabling them to thrive in a close-knit community of their peers. Kindly note that the doctoral program is not offered online.
