College of Social Work

The College of Social Work Doctoral Program at FSU offers a Ph.D. with an emphasis in research methods and teaching. We develop well-rounded social work scholars and leaders in research and education by offering hands-on experiences in research and teaching, along with close mentoring by a well trained, diverse faculty. The curriculum is cutting-edge methodologically and designed to nurture students’ success. The program maintains a proven track record of producing well-rounded scholars who go on to pursue successful careers in academia. Doctoral students often work alongside professors at one of FSU College of Social Work's various centers/institutes: The Institute for Justice Research and Development, The Institute for Family Violence Studies, the Florida Institute for Child Welfare, the FSU Multidisciplinary Center, and the Center for the Study and Promotion of Communities, Families and Children.
